About

Genuine Resource is about making thoughtful use of ordinary household things. It looks at reuse, repair, storage, materials and care for readers who would rather understand the choices than be told to buy a new solution.

What we cover

We explore what familiar objects are made to do, how their materials behave in ordinary use, and where a second use might make sense. Some subjects call for a comparison; others benefit from a little history or a careful look at a common assumption.

Who it is for

The publication is for curious householders, renters, makers and anyone who likes to use what is already at hand. You do not need specialist tools or technical knowledge to follow along.

How we approach it

We favour clear explanations and modest suggestions over grand promises. Where an idea depends on specialist skill, safety precautions or local rules, we do not present it as an ordinary do-it-yourself task. Keeping something is not always the resourceful choice; a useful second life should be genuinely useful.
